16th century Gem, 21st century Living in Beautiful Countryside
Sabden Great Hall is a Grade II* Listed 16th Century Elizabethan building and deemed to be one of the finest of its period in the area. It is situated in the small hamlet of Sabden Fold in a Hidden Valley yet close to local amenities and with easy motorway access (10 minutes).
The property underwent a substantial fifteen month restoration, renovation and conservation programme and many interesting and fine features that had been hidden for decades if not hundreds of years were uncovered. In addition bespoke fittings by Lancashire and Yorkshire craftsmen also enhance the beauty of the Hall. The work was carried out to such a high standard that it was deemed to be excellent by the local Conservation and Building Officer.
The Great Hall is situated in the middle of Sabden Fold conservation area to preserve it and related buildings. The holding is just under three acres comprising a large well stocked landscaped garden, with specimen plants, grazing field with a well-fenced off area with a horse box, hen house, large greenhouse and a separate vegetable garden with six raised beds. There is also a sizable pond, with boat on the upper section of the lower field. The top field (Spout Bank) is mainly mixed woodland containing a well and water storage tank with access to the main road.
