To reach the property from Clitheroe travel along the main road out of the town towards Chatburn turning left in Chatburn village centre into Ribble Lane following the road crossing over the bridge spanning the River Ribble and at the first junction turn right, up the hill to the top, turning left by the Duke Of York hotel into Main Street. Continue up the hill for approximately 1 mile then turn right into Smalden Lane. Continue for approximately 2 miles then turn left onto Landing Lane and Harrop Gate Farm is located on the right hand side half a mile further on.
Chatburn village offers amenities including post office and village store, hairdressers, public houses, butchers, newsagents, churches and there is a good circular bus service from Grindleton village to Clitheroe.
The market town of Clitheroe includes a wide range of further facilities including good local shopping, supermarkets, health centre, library, banks and schools including junior secondary and Clitheroe Royal Grammar School. There are also many private schooling establishments within the Ribble Valley area.
